Slow-Cooked Citrus Carnitas

Yield: 8–10 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 5 garlic cloves, smashed
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/2 cup broth

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on LOW for 8–10 hours.
  3. Shred the pork.
  4. Spread on a baking sheet with some of the cooking liquid.
  5. Broil for 5–8 minutes until crispy.
