Conditions We Support
You Deserve a Better Healthcare Experience.
At Turnpaugh Health, we believe you deserve more than symptom management and quick fixes — regardless of why you are here. Whether you are searching for answers to complex, unresolved health concerns, looking for a Primary Care experience that actually takes the time to know you, or ready to invest in how you age through our Longevity Medicine program, the standard of care is the same. Every patient receives a thorough, whole-body evaluation that goes far beyond the standard workup — examining your full health history, environmental factors, gut health, hormonal balance, genetics, nutrition, and stress. Our whole-body care team then brings together advanced diagnostics and genuine clinical depth to build a plan that is specific to you, not a template. At Turnpaugh Health, getting to the root of it is not just our approach — it has been our standard since 1999.
Schedule an Appointment What to ExpectComing to Turnpaugh Health and Wellness Center was a game changer for me! Previously I had seen several doctors to help me manage a hormonal imbalance. Their recommendations were hormone replacement, which wrecked havoc on my body and emotions. As a last ditch effort, I came to Turnpaugh Health and Wellness. Dr. Ross listened, asked great questions, and came up with a plan to help my body. 3 months after starting the recommended diet and taking the prescribed supplements, I am feeling better than I have in years. My hormones are balanced, I have lost weight, and I am feeling so much more stable emotionally. I'm so grateful for the help and care from Turnpaugh! Sarah
Conditions We Support
Thyroid Conditions
The thyroid gland plays an important role in regulating many metabolic processes throughout the body. Conditions that affect this gland can result in fatigue, weight gain, intolerance to cold, muscle aches, and more. We address several thyroid conditions, such as Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Hyperthyroidism, and Hypothyroidism. We also help manage Graves’ Disease, Thyroidectomy, and cases where people have had their thyroid removed.
How can we help
Our approach is to look for any trigger that has created an imbalance in your thyroid gland and the hormones it is producing. This could be allergies, mold, infections, viruses, heavy metals, etc. We will carefully analyze for any triggers and start by removing or reducing these triggers. We look to maximize your body’s physiology by supporting any insufficiencies or deficiencies found.
Schedule an AppointmentPrimary Care

We treat women of all ages with health concerns ranging from menstrual irregularities to menopause and everything in between. Common conditions that we see include PCOS, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, migraines, reproductive health, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, perimenopause/menopause, etc.
How can we help
Our approach is to find the root cause or the underlying issue while educating patients that signs and symptoms are the body’s way of communicating that something may be going on. We help create the conditions for health by maximizing your body’s physiology by supporting any insufficiencies or deficiencies found within your health history and laboratory testing.
What to expect
During your first appointment, you will go over a detailed health history with your Functional Medicine provider. You will have blood work done to identify any insufficiencies and/or potential deficiencies in your physiology, and sometimes additional functional medicine tests are offered. This will all be followed up at the second visit, where your functional medicine provider will go through all of your labs/functional tests, discuss individualized treatment plan options that may include lifestyle changes/dietary changes, supplements, botanicals, etc. You will then have two appointments with the nutrition team, who will support you with any dietary changes. Your care team will work with you during your health journey.

Schedule an AppointmentAlzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease
Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease are neurological disorders, meaning they affect the central nervous system which sends signals from the brain the rest of the body. Alzheimer’s disease mainly effects memory while Parkinson’s Disease has a larger impact on a person’s movement.
How can we help
Although there is no cure for either of these diseases, our doctors have the knowledge and experience necessary to combat and lessen the symptoms of them by addressing the host of the disease. It should be the root cause. We look to improve the health of the nervous system by correcting any imbalances rather than just using a different medication for each symptom individually. Dr. Drobin and Dr. Regina Smith are both certified in the ReCODE program for Alzheimer’s
What to expect
During your initial appointment, your functional medicine provider will go over a detailed health history and discuss any current symptoms you are having. If the situation calls for it, we can run blood chemistry markers, and in serious cases, an MRI may be run so they can evaluate what the next steps should be and create an individualized health care plan just for you. How can we help
Chronic fatigue can derive from a wide variety of health conditions and external factors. Our goal is to find the root cause of your current condition. Through laboratory testing we will find what is causing you to feel this way and will use a team approach to put together an individualized health care plan that will help you combat your chronic fatigue.

Schedule an AppointmentLyme Disease and Co-Infections
Lyme disease is an infection caused by the bacterium borrelia burdorferi that is most commonly transmitted to humans by the deer tick. There are several co-infections associated with Lyme disease, the most common are babesiosis and bartonellosis. Lyme disease may affect the joints, immune system, cardiovascular system, and central nervous system.
How can we help
Lyme disease is one of the hardest conditions to diagnose and treat. Standard testing lacks sensitivity for early and late infections of this disease. For this reason, we run extensive tests that go far beyond the standard testing protocols. All of our functional medicine doctors specialize in diagnosing and treating this condition by focusing on the health of the host, rather than addressing each symptom individually.
Please watch Dr. Turnpaugh speaking about Lyme disease on a recent podcast here. We regularly host talks and discussions regarding Lyme disease especially because of the prevalence of this disease in Central PA.
What to expect
You will fill out an intake form before even having an appointment, so our doctors can evaluate whether or not they believe Lyme disease is the cause of your current health issues, if you have not yet been diagnosed. During your initial appointment, your functional medicine provider will go over your detailed health history and discuss any current symptoms you are having. They will order extensive lab tests to be run so they can evaluate what the next steps should be and create an individualized health care plan just for you. They will proceed to address your illness with supplementation and nutritional advice, as well as any other treatment methods they believe will be beneficial to you, individually, depending on your current symptoms and severity of the case.
