Ongoing Care

• A follow-up appointment with your Functional Health Team will be scheduled for 30 minutes, six weeks after your second visit. During this session, we will review your care plan, address any needs, and discuss your overall health and wellness to ensure you are on the right path.  This visit is included in the price of your second appointment.

At Turnpaugh Health and Wellness Center, we use integrative family medicine to take a unique approach to you and your family’s care. This service incorporates principles of whole-body health from a functional medicine perspective with traditional allopathic family practice services, such as physicals, well visits, sick visits, and many more.

IV Therapy delivers vital nutrients directly into your bloodstream. This means that the gut does not need to work to break down the nutrients, and the liver does not break down the amount of delivery to your cells and tissues, allowing for extremely high absorption rates! We offer a variety of IV infusions for patients and non-patients. Myers cocktail IV, NAD+, hydration, and high-dose vitamin C are among some of our favorites.

IV Therapy may be beneficial to patients dealing with a wide variety of health issues, including fitness recovery, cold and flu symptoms, stress, migraines and headaches, malabsorption and GI health issues, immune support, acute and chronic pain, and chronic fatigue.

What to Expect

IV therapy is extremely safe! A small needle is placed in a vein in your arm. There is very little pain involved with the therapy. Once IV therapy is started, you will be relaxing in a very comfortable recliner chair with soothing music in the background. A specialist will be on hand at all times to monitor you, answer any questions you may have, and to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during this process. IV therapy can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours for most patients, depending on the type of treatment.

What To Expect

Patients get to know Dr. Panattoni during their initial visit to the Mechanicsburg office. She sees patients for functional therapy for one to two hours in an effort to help to address their emotional needs in conjunction with their overall health.

Psychotherapy: $200 per session

Acupuncture is used to correct imbalances in the flow of energy, also known as our chi or qi. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s believed that our chi flows through pathways in our bodies called meridians, which correlate to both nerve stimulation and various ailments. This is done by inserting fine, sterile needles into your skin, effectively stimulating specific anatomic sites, more commonly known as acupoints.

Acupuncture promotes your body’s natural self-healing process to relieve pain and improve sleep, digestion, and emotional well-being.

What to Expect

Our acupuncturist will make sure you are relaxed and comfortable before beginning the procedure. He will then insert fine needles into your skin to stimulate specific pressure points or acupoints. The number of needles you get, the placement of these needles, and how deeply they are inserted into your skin vary depending on your specific needs. Your initial appointment will be 90 minutes. Each subsequent appointment will be scheduled as necessary and will be one hour long.

Muscle Activation Techniques, or MAT, is a systematic approach used to identify and address muscular imbalances that may be contributing to pain, instability, or limitations in movement. Rather than focusing only on the muscles themselves, MAT looks at neuromuscular function, specifically how the brain communicates with the muscular system. When the body senses instability, it often responds with protective tightening. In many cases, what feels like tightness may actually be a sign of underlying muscle weakness and poor muscular activation.

MAT is designed to identify areas where muscles are not functioning optimally and where joint stability may be compromised. When a muscle is not activating well, the joint it supports can become unstable, which may contribute to restricted range of motion, compensation patterns, and discomfort. By identifying and addressing these areas of instability, MAT helps restore more efficient muscular function, improve stability, and support healthier movement patterns. The goal is not simply to create more mobility, but to improve mobility with stability and control.

What to Expect During a MAT Session

During a MAT session, clients move through a variety of ranges of motion based on their comfort and ability. The practitioner evaluates limitations in movement and identifies muscles that may not be activating appropriately. Once areas of dysfunction are found, the practitioner uses specific hands-on techniques, including manual pressure and force application, to help restore neuromuscular function.

Clients remain fully clothed during the session. Because movement and hands-on assessment are part of the process, lighter and more flexible clothing is recommended. Jeans, bulky sweatshirts, and restrictive clothing are best avoided. Clients may also be asked to remove certain accessories, such as shoes, belts, watches, or glasses, depending on the evaluation and treatment approach.

Although MAT is not considered strenuous exercise, clients should expect active participation throughout the session. This may include repetitive muscle testing, controlled movements at end ranges of motion, and changes in positioning such as lying on the back or stomach. Some techniques may involve treatment near more sensitive areas of the body, including the ribcage, gluteal region, or pelvic landmarks, always within a professional clinical setting.

HBOT uses the combined action of increased oxygen and increased pressure to induce a significant improvement in tissue oxygenation.

HBOT may help patients suffering from Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, diabetes, concussions, ADD/ADHD, autism, PANS/PANDAS, alzheimer’s, chronic pain, and more.

What To Expect

We will assist you as you enter the Hyperbaric Chamber. You will gently sit and lie on your back with your head toward the window. Once in, we will zip the inner and outer layers of the chamber to ensure complete closure. The chamber has automatic pressure stabilizers to maintain an optimal atmosphere for treatment. The chamber also has a voice-activated walkie-talkie that a staff member will constantly monitor, so we can be there for you quickly, anytime you need us. We will check in on our new HBOT sessions frequently, typically every 2-5 minutes of your session. To finish up the treatment, depressurization takes about 3 minutes to return to room pressure.

LDA/LDI therapy enables your body to build a tolerance to many common allergies, such as food, pollen, mold, animals, dust, chemicals, etc., and, in turn, leads to increased immune function. This is done by injecting very low doses of a broad spectrum of allergens into your body to stimulate the production of T-cells.

Benefits

LDA/LDI prevents the spreading or worsening of allergies over time, which is unfortunately very common when allergies are not treated specifically or are treated using only medication.

What to Expect

When scheduling an appointment for LDI or LDA, you will first see one of the providers in our office for an exam and to go over your comprehensive health history.  This appointment is followed by an LDA prep appointment with Patty.  Patty will review what to expect from your LDA appointments as well as how to best prep your immune system for this appointment.  Your LDA appointment will follow one week after your LDA prep.  Patients see maximum benefit from returning every 6-10 weeks initially.

Ionic Foot detox is used to rid the body of harmful toxins and enhance your overall health. These toxins can come from impurities in the air, chemicals in your home, or even your beauty products. A foot detox can get rid of toxins from any part of the body, from your organs to your joints. After doing a foot detox you may not only feel better, but look better too!

Ionic foot detox may help to rid your body of harmful environmental toxins, enhance your overall health, and provide calmness.

What to Expect

Our ionic detox technician will take you to a calm, quiet room for a 45-minute foot bath. You can expect to see the water change color as your body rids itself of toxins.  Many notice a difference after a single session. We recommend 4-6 sessions for maximum benefit.

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep within your body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch, generally no greater than five grams, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround your central nervous system. CST is very commonly used on infants as well to address a variety of conditions they may have been born with.

CST can benefit patients suffering from a variety of conditions, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, concussions and traumatic brain injuries, infant colic, latching challenges, torticollis, headaches, seizure disorders, generalized pain disorders, and more.

What to Expect

For infants, a cranial sacral therapist will have the mother lie down with the baby. The mother may also be asked to breastfeed the infant during the therapy to keep the baby calm and relaxed throughout the procedure. During each session, your therapist will assess areas of fascial and muscular restriction. They will then proceed with the therapy, starting at either your head or feet, applying very light pressure where they feel will be most beneficial to you based on your individual needs. Sessions are typically one hour long. Follow-ups will be scheduled, usually once or twice a week, according to your therapist’s recommendations.

The PEMF technology uses low-frequency energy fields that are pulsed as you utilize the mat.

What is PEMF Therapy?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. There are several methods by which PEMF therapy can be administered. In our office, we use a full-body therapeutic mat. These mats emit electromagnetic waves at very low frequencies to recharge unhealthy cells and restore the body’s natural self-healing process. The frequencies are similar to those of the electromagnetic waves found in nature. They are not nearly as high as those produced by microwaves, X-ray machines, etc., which can be harmful to the body.

How does PEMF Therapy work?

The cells in your body carry positive and negative charges. These charges allow for the exchange of potassium, sodium, and calcium ions, which your body needs to function properly. Over time, or with injury, your cells can get damaged and no longer carry these magnetic charges. This does not allow for the necessary exchange of ions in the body. PEMF mats emit electromagnetic waves to target your damaged cells and restore healthy charges to them. Different levels of frequencies target different tissues and cells in your body. Our bodies need to be exposed to low-frequency waves for our cells to keep their positive and negative charges. This can help decrease inflammation, increase circulation, reduce the effects of stress, accelerate bone healing, and more.

“The trillions of cells of your body maintain stored energy, or voltage, that represents the ability to execute the functions that keep you alive. When cells lose voltage due to environmental stressors, lack of exercise, injury, or inadequate nutrition, it creates an environment for the onset of dysfunction that can lead to illness and chronic pain.
