Schedule an Appointment Conditions We SupportFor your first visit, you will meet with one of our functional medicine providers for an hour where you will discuss health history, health concerns, and goals in detail. During this time, your doctor may order advanced medical diagnostics. Our team phlebotomist may draw your labs at this time as well.
At your second appointment, you will follow up with your functional medicine doctor for 75 minutes to review your test results in depth. You will leave this appointment with a deep understanding of your health and with a clear wellness plan so you can experience healing and optimal health. You will also meet with your Functional Health and Wellness Provider to discuss a nutrition plan as well as lifestyle factors that we believe to be the most important pillars of your health.
As part of our comprehensive Care Team approach, you will meet with your Functional Health Provider after your second visit and again six weeks later. Because we address whole health, we support you in all aspects of wellness with ongoing support and collaboration. The Functional Health team supports all of the pillars of health; nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, community, breathing, supplements, and an ongoing network of support. Additional appointments with your provider may be scheduled as well.
I came to TH&W after a suggestion from my Mom who has been seeing them, Dr. West specifically, for two years. Whilst I appreciate the care I was receiving from my PCP, I went through lots of standard blood work and diagnostic testing for symptoms, and left each appointment with little to no insight and more anxiety. In addition to that, I often hear the “you look healthy, you’re fine!” & I felt anything but. Dr. West made me feel heard, and I felt a confidence in her after leaving my first consult that we would get some answers. She ran in-depth & relevant testing to figure out what imbalances I had going on. She is kind and compassionate, but also confident and firm in her delivery of the information; I didn’t feel like I was there for a “doctors appointment”, I felt like I was having a dual-sided conversation with a person who truly wants to see her patients thrive. Aside from Dr. West, Desiree in billing is phenomenal and polite & prompt in getting billing questions answered (my Mom has also said Desiree has done a great job at getting any billing issues sorted). Michele who initially set my consultation up was also a dream, she was so friendly and relatable and answered all my questions. No one there makes you feel rushed or like you’re a bother to them. Keep doing what you guys do, and educating the public about how great functional wellness & health really is! Allison
Our phlebotomist will draw labs based on your provider recommendations and send them out for processing. We do submit your insurance information along with these labs. If you do not have insurance, we do have client pricing for our uninsured patients. Our in-house lab draws are sent to LabCorp for processing. There are other more specific tests that your provider may run based on your health history and patient complaints and they will discuss these with you in detail.
In an effort to keep lab testing costs low, we will recommend only those labs we feel necessary at the time of your visit. We may recommend testing from certain specialty labs. Your provider and our check out team can discuss associated test prices with you at that time.
We focus on your whole health picture and our goal is to work together with you to help you achieve optimal health. Our nurse practitioners can do yearly well visits as well as sick visits. However, many patients prefer to maintain a PCP for urgent matters as well as yearly visits. We do not have emergency weekend visits so we do recommend patients call their PCP or visit an ER or urgent care in those situations.
We accept all major credit cards, cash, check or Venmo.
We do not participate with insurance. Insurance companies do not recognize the functional medicine model of care. You can often use your HSA account. We can also provide you with a receipt for out-of-network reimbursement.
Yes! You can purchase supplements at Shop.TurnpaughHWC.com or by calling the office, 717-795-9566.
You do not need to be a current patient to come in for these services. Our new patient coordinator can help with these appointments.
