The Diet Dilema

It is absolutely bonkers how many diets are out there! They all tout the same thing, THIS IS THE SOLUTION. But, after clearing out all your food storages to comply with the diet rules, explaining to all your loved ones that this is going to be THE DIET that changes everything, and diving in head first, at some point the novelty wears off because it’s not sustainable, it’s too generalized, not applicable to you or just not rooted in any sort of scientific data. 

 

Feeling defeated, you stop – dare I say “you fell off the wagon.” Mentally beating yourself up because you couldn’t follow through elicits an increase in your body’s stress response that is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE for ALL of your health and wellness goals. 

(PS my lovelies: there is no wagon, so it’s simply not possible to fall off;) 

Just like everyone has unique fingerprints, yes even identical twins do, a one-size-fits-all-approach NEVER works. IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT!!

The OPTIMAL DIET is one that is specific to YOUR genetic makeup, sex, age, activity level, environmental factors, and any health issue(s) that you might be experiencing. Life isn’t linear and neither are you. I encourage you, if you’re frustrated with where your health and weight loss goals currently reside, to reach out to a health professional with a root cause approach that will team up with you and help create a personalized eating and lifestyle rhythm relational to your own unique needs. 

I can’t possibly tell you what’s perfect for you in this blog, but what I can do is provide tried and true nutritional guidelines to get you started on your journey. Happy Eating! ♥️

😋Meal Balance, Low-inflammatory = Protein, Healthy Fat, Fiber

  • Protein – cold water fish, plant-based, minimal white meat
  • Healthy Fat rich in Omega 3s – salmon, sardines, avocado, etc.
  • Fiber – veggies, complex carbohydrates, seeds, etc.

🥬Phytonutrient Rich

  • Colorful whole foods – dark leafy greens, etc.

🥳Enjoy simple carbohydrates and sugar ONLY on special occasions

⌚Time Restrictive Eating – enjoy your last bite of food 3-4 hours before bedtime

  • Intermittent fasting is not beneficial for everyone all the time, discuss with your healthcare provider

💧Hydrate! Filtered water, non-caffeinated herbal teas
