Janine is a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about nutrition!
Janine Fink, MS (candidate), FMCHC, CNS eligible
Janine is a nutrition professional with specialized training in functional medicine, health communication, wellness coaching, and holistic culinary arts. With over 10 years of combined experience in motivational mentoring, concentrated studies in preventive health, and servicing for communal and individual needs, she is passionate about helping others co-create their optimal vision of wellness in their lives and on their plates.
Her dedication to the field started when she created her own major in Preventive Health and Wellness Communication at Hofstra University near her hometown in Long Island, New York. Janine’s unique experience in understanding the impact of behavior and lifestyle change inspired her to go on to obtain a wellness coaching certification from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA). Over the years her coaching has been a catalyst for fostering healthy habits in clients of all ages.
In her pursuit to make a stronger connection between enacting lifestyle change and the healing properties of food, Janine enrolled in culinary school. After receiving a diploma in Health-Supportive Culinary Arts at The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in Manhattan, she furthered her culinary experience by working with some of the nation’s most renowned chefs. Her experiences include farm-to-table dining, educating on culinary nutrition, and externing at the award-winning destination spa resort, The Lodge at Woodloch.
In 2021, Janine’s love for the outdoors and desire for more clinical experience brought her to New England. When she wasn’t snowboarding or hiking the beautiful mountains of the region in her free time, she collaborated with dietitians at Dartmouth Health in personalizing therapeutic diets and educating patients at nutritional risk. Janine’s time at the premier hospital reinforced her love for patient care, a desire to use food as medicine, and her interest in practicing nutrition through a functional lens.
By summer of 2024, Janine will graduate with a Dual Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States; her studies through the research-oriented program have been an integral part of her journey and the highlight of her career. With her diverse training and experience, Janine is excited to join Turnpaugh Health in helping people thrive!
