Lynn Panattoni, PHD
Functional Psychotherapist, Coaching and Occupational Counseling, Clinical hypnotherapist for pain and trauma, Mechanicsburg

Functional Psychotherapy | Mechanicsburg

Dr. Lynn Panattoni brings an uncommon combination to mental health care: rigorous clinical training across multiple therapeutic modalities, deep familiarity with the mind-body connection, and firsthand understanding of how chronic illness — including Lyme disease and autoimmune conditions — shapes mental health. She doesn’t separate psychological wellness from physical wellness. Neither does Functional Medicine.

Clinical Focus

  • Trauma, Anxiety & Depression
  • Limbic System & Nervous System Dysfunction
  • Autoimmune-Related Mental Health
  • Attachment & Family Systems
  • Chronic Pain & Illness Adjustment
  • Lifestyle Medicine & Behavioral Change

Education & Experience

Dr. Panattoni holds a Ph.D. and is a licensed functional psychotherapist with a background spanning clinical practice, research, and published work in wellness and mental health. She is Lyme literate and trained specifically in the psychological dimensions of autoimmune disease — an area most therapists are not equipped to address. Her therapeutic toolkit includes Trauma-Focused Therapy, Limbic System Therapy, CBT, SFBT, Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Family Systems, and the Gottman Method.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Panattoni works with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of presentations — from trauma and grief to career transitions and chronic illness adjustment. She also provides career and educational counseling, helping clients identify direction and accelerate development at any life stage. Her lifestyle medicine lens means she addresses nutrition, gut health, sleep, stress, and exercise as part of mental health care, not separate from it.

Professional Contributions

Dr. Panattoni is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She has presented at the ILADS Mental Health Conference, reflecting her commitment to advancing the conversation around Lyme disease and mental health.

Personal Life

Dr. Panattoni is a trained classical singer with a BA in classical voice and regularly performs in operas and musical theatre productions across the country. She is an avid traveler with a genuine interest in different cultures and cuisines. Her life outside the office reflects the same breadth and curiosity she brings to her clinical work.

Health Habits

  • Lifestyle Medicine Practices (confirm her specific habits if you have them)
  • Mindfulness & Stress Management
  • Travel & Cultural Immersion
  • Classical Performance & Voice

Dr. Panattoni works at the intersection of mental health, chronic illness, and lifestyle medicine — for patients whose healing requires attention to all three.
