Meet Christa Whiteman, DC

Christa Whiteman, DC
Chiropractor, Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine & Chiropractic | Strasburg

Dr. Christa Whiteman came to functional medicine through biochemistry, chiropractic, and clinical herbalism — and 16 years of solo private practice in New York before joining Turnpaugh Health in 2023. She knows what it takes to run a practice built entirely on getting results, because for a long time that was the only way to keep the lights on.

Clinical Focus

  • Women’s Health — Hypothyroidism, PCOS & Celiac Disease
  • Autoimmune Conditions
  • Hormone Imbalances
  • Chronic Pain
  • Clinical Herbalism & Botanical Medicine
  • Functional Nutrition

Education & Experience

Dr. Christa earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from Messiah College in 2002 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from New York Chiropractic College in 2007. Her biochemistry background was intentional — she wanted to understand nutrition at a molecular level before applying it clinically. She was introduced to functional medicine when her mother became a patient of Dr. Turnpaugh’s, and it reshaped how she practiced. For 16 years she ran a private practice in New York integrating chiropractic, functional medicine, and clinical herbalism, focusing on chronic pain, autoimmune disease, and hormonal imbalances. She joined Turnpaugh Health in 2023 to practice within an integrated team for the first time — and brought everything she built in those 16 years with her.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Christa brings a rare combination of biochemical depth, chiropractic training, and clinical herbalism to women’s health — particularly for patients navigating hypothyroidism, PCOS, and Celiac disease. Her approach is grounded in the idea that nutrition is the fundamental building block of health, and that the body can heal when given the right conditions.

Professional Contributions

Dr. Christa spent 16 years refining her integrative approach in private practice before joining Turnpaugh Health. Her background in clinical herbalism adds a therapeutic dimension that complements functional medicine in ways that pharmaceuticals often cannot.

Personal Life

Dr. Christa lives in Lancaster with her husband and two cats — cats she can now actually be around, thanks to LDI treatment. Outside the office she strength trains, practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, does archery, bow hunts, and makes what she calls “tasty messes in the kitchen.” She is not a provider who lives cautiously.

Health Habits

  • Strength Training
  • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
  • Archery & Bow Hunting
  • Cooking & Whole Food Preparation

Dr. Whiteman is passionate about the cases that sit at the intersection of hormones, immune function, and nutrition — the ones where getting it right genuinely changes the trajectory of a woman’s life. After 16 years of building her approach in solo practice, she joined Turnpaugh Health because she believes the most complex cases deserve the most collaborative care, and she’s finally found the team to do it with.
