Angela is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a strong interest in the complex interactions among the mind, body, spirit and environment. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University and her Masters in Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner certification from University of Maryland in Baltimore. Her goal as a nurse practitioner has been to find ways to address the needs of her patients as fully and in the most holistic way possible. To this end, she has completed coursework in functional nutrition through the Functional Nutrition Lab and in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has also completed course work in trauma and resiliency through Eastern Mennonite University and is currently working on her psychiatric nurse practitioner certification.
Angela is proficient in Spanish and is currently working to develop knowledge and experience in trauma-informed mental health evaluation and treatment to better support the emotional healing of individuals and communities through a post-graduate PMHNP certification.
When Angela is not working as a nurse practitioner, she works with her sisters to grow specialty cut flowers, certified organic vegetables, and native plants and trees on the family farm in Juniata County, PA. Having grown up in East Africa, Angela enjoys learning languages, culturally diverse environments, travel, and foods from around the world.
