Easy 4-Ingredient Holiday Treat: Chocolate-Pecan Date Bites
Enjoy these sweet and salty treats that are perfect for a quick Thanksgiving treat!
Ingredients:
- Medjool dates
- Pecans
- Dark chocolate chips
- Flaky coarse sea salt
Instructions:
- Prep the Dates:
- If the Medjool dates are hard, soak them in warm water for 5–10 minutes, then pat dry.
- Carefully slice each date lengthwise to remove the pit, keeping the date intact as much as possible.
- Stuff with Pecans:
- Insert one whole pecan (or a few pecan pieces) into each date where the pit was removed. Press gently to close the date around the pecan.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 15-20 second increments, stirring in between, until smooth and pourable.
- Drizzle the Chocolate:
- Using a spoon, drizzle melted chocolate over the stuffed dates. Be generous!
- Add a Touch of Salt:
- Sprinkle each date with a pinch of flaky coarse sea salt while the chocolate is still warm.
- Set and Serve:
- Place the dates on a parchment-lined plate or tray and refrigerate for about 15 minutes, or until the chocolate sets.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Optional Tip: Arrange the bites on a decorative plate and garnish with extra pecans for a festive presentation.
