Amy Montgomery, CRNP
Integrative Medicine Family Nurse Practitioner, Enola
Functional Medicine & Family Nurse Practitioner | Enola
Amy Montgomery spent years at the bedside in Cardiovascular, Neurological, and Critical Care units before making a deliberate decision: she wanted to help patients before they ended up there. That shift — from acute care to Functional Medicine — shapes everything about how she practices today.

Education & Experience
Amy earned her BSN from West Chester University in 2003 and built her early career in hospital medicine, earning national certifications in both Trauma and Critical Care nursing. She went on to complete Widener University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, graduating at the top of her class. Her clinical training took a significant turn when she discovered Functional Medicine and pursued certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine — a shift she describes as profoundly changing how she views health altogether. She has also completed Dr. Horowitz’s Weekend Intensive Certification Program in Lyme Disease and Co-Infections.
Areas of Expertise
Amy’s background in critical care gives her a clinical sharpness that translates well into Functional Medicine — she understands systemic disease deeply and knows what happens when chronic illness goes unaddressed. She builds individualized care plans that prioritize prevention, support the body’s natural healing capacity, and account for the full picture of a patient’s health.
Professional Contributions
Amy is an active member of the Institute for Functional Medicine, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and ILADS. Her memberships reflect both her clinical range and her commitment to staying current in functional and integrative medicine.
Personal Life
Amy is a wife and mother of two who fills her time outside the office with travel, running, and yoga. She brings the same consistency to her personal health that she asks of her patients.

Amy came to functional medicine after years of watching what happens when chronic disease isn’t caught early enough. Now she works to make sure her patients don’t get to that point.
